Annual Cultural Extravaganza at Oxford Grammar School Celebrates “BHARAT EK AASTHA”

In a spectacular showcase of cultural brilliance, Oxford Grammar School CBSE, SSC, commemorated its 43rd Annual Cultural Day on November 25, 2023, at Lalita Kala Toranam, immersed in the theme “BHARAT – EK AASTHA.” The event unfolded with a tapestry of vibrant ethnic performances, resonating the essence of diversity and unity.


The esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. K. Seetarama Rao, Vice Chancellor of Ambedkar Open University, lauded the school for four decades of educational excellence. Drawing parallels to Nehru’s discovery of India, Prof. Rao emphasized the significance of preserving cultural traditions in today’s virtualized world. Impressed by the performances, he urged the cultivation of unity in young minds and applauded the school management’s unique theme selection.
Presiding over the event, Veda Kumar Manikonda, Chairman of Deccan Heritage Academy Trust and School Chief Patron, encouraged parents to guide their children based on interests for optimal performance and success. Underscoring the importance of seizing opportunities, Kumar emphasized shaping responsible citizens.



The stage came alive with traditional dances representing diverse cultures, captivating the audience and showcasing the grace and beauty of students’ performances.


Guest of Honour, Seetha Murty, Director of Education at Silver Oaks International Schools Hyderabad & Hyderabad Sahodaya Schools Cluster, praised the school’s coordination and control of the program. Anticipating the institution’s Golden Jubilee celebrations in seven years, Murty congratulated Oxford Grammar School for 43 years of educational excellence.
Dr. R. Sudhakar and Dr. K. Ratnasree, Professors from the Department of Dance at Potti Sreemalu Telugu University, commended the school for presenting a mesmerizing array of dance forms, styles, dresses, and varieties on one stage.
Prarthana Manikonda, Vice Chairperson and the backbone of the OGS family, meticulously oversaw the entire cultural program, ensuring attention to details such as costumes, jewelry, and the authenticity of dance forms.

In attendance were Committee Members, Dhananjaiah, Ramanjula (Principal, CBSE), Fahmida Shamim (Headmistress, SSC), Fatima Qazim (Headmistress, Preprimary School), Syed Sabir (Former Correspondent), and various NGO heads.
With a significant parent turnout, the celebration garnered enthusiastic support, fostering cross-cultural awareness among students. The theme, “BHARAT EK AASTHA,” aimed to promote unity by uniting communities under one roof.
