In a monumental democratic exercise, Telangana gears up for its assembly election polling scheduled for November 30. The results, eagerly anticipated, are slated to be declared on December 3. The estimated cost of orchestrating this electoral endeavor stands at 150 crores.

A staggering 3,26,02,799 voters are registered, comprising 1,62,98,418 men, 1,63,01,705 women, and 2,676 transgender voters. Additionally, 15,406 service voters and 2,944 expatriates are part of this electoral landscape. To facilitate the voting process, 35,655 polling stations will be established, with a noteworthy 21,686 wheelchairs arranged for disabled individuals.

Highlighting inclusivity, 120 polling stations will be operated by disabled persons, while 597 will be managed by women. The commitment to accessibility extends further with free transport provided for those above 80 years.

The logistical magnitude of this electoral event is reflected in the deployment of 1,85,000 personnel and 22,000 micro observers. Security measures are robust, involving 375 companies of armed central forces and a formidable police force of 50,000.

Noteworthy is the extensive polling window, ranging from 7 am to 4 pm in 13 constituencies marked by left-wing extremism, while 106 constituencies will witness polling until 5 pm. As the democratic machinery springs into action, citizens await the unfolding of this significant chapter in Telangana’s political landscape.
