Hyderabad December 09
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has implemented two key promises from the Congress party’s recent Assembly elections, marking the commencement of free travel for women in TSRTC buses and an expansion of the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. The inauguration took place in the presence of the Cabinet, Congress MLAs, and dignitaries including Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and boxing champion Nikhat Zareen. CM Revanth Reddy stated that the Congress government is dedicated to fulfilling all six guarantees within 100 days, aiming to transform Telangana into a welfare state.
The free travel initiative covers girls, women, and transgender individuals within the state borders, while the enhanced health coverage benefits 90.10 lakh below BPL families with an annual limit of Rs 10 lakh per family under the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme. The launch coincides with the birthday of party leader Sonia Gandhi, whom Reddy described as the mother of Telangana.
