Google is reportedly considering a project named “Ellmann” to create a comprehensive overview of users’ lives by utilizing phone data, photos, and searches, integrating AI technology. The concept involves employing large language models, such as the latest Gemini model, to analyze search results, identify patterns in users’ photos, and generate a chatbot capable of answering complex questions. With over 1 billion users and 4 trillion photos and videos on Google Photos, “Project Ellmann” aims to go beyond pixel labels, using biographies and contextual information to provide a deeper understanding of users’ photos. The envisioned “Ellmann Chat” would offer personalized insights based on users’ life data. A Google spokesperson emphasized the company’s commitment to user privacy and safety, stating that any potential features would undergo careful consideration. Additionally, Google recently introduced Gemini 1.0, a highly capable model with multimodal reasoning capabilities set to be integrated into various Google products and services.
