New Delhi, December 14: The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) issued a warning regarding critical security vulnerabilities affecting Samsung mobile phones running Android versions 11, 12, 13, and 14. These vulnerabilities, deemed high-risk due to their potential impact and ease of exploitation, could enable attackers to bypass security measures, access sensitive data, and execute arbitrary code on the targeted devices.

CERT-In’s advisory highlighted that successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities may lead to unauthorized access to the device SIM PIN, reading sandbox data of AR Emoji, bypassing Knox Guard lock through changing system time, and compromising sensitive information. The diverse nature of these vulnerabilities affects various components within the Samsung ecosystem.

To mitigate the associated risks, users are strongly advised to promptly apply security updates provided by Samsung, as detailed in their official security advisory. Until the updates are applied, caution is recommended while using the affected devices, particularly when engaging with untrusted sources or unknown applications.
