Hyderabad Police Bust Inter-State Drug Peddler Gang Ahead of New Year Celebrations
Hyderabad law enforcement successfully dismantled an inter-state drug peddler gang, apprehending two offenders in possession of MDMA, brown sugar, and cocaine intended for distribution during New Year celebrations. The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team, seized 100 grams of MDMA, 29 sachets of brown sugar, and two grams of cocaine, collectively valued at Rs 7.50 lakh.
The accused, S. Naveen and Borra Veera Sai Teja, residents of Andhra Pradesh residing in Hyderabad’s Manikonda, were reportedly addicted to drugs. Naveen, a B.Tech Mechanical student at Lovely Professional University, Punjab, since 2019, had accrued debts and, along with Sai Teja, sought to clear them by selling drugs to customers in Hyderabad.
Procuring substances from Delhi, the accused were selling MDMA for Rs 6,000-8,000 per gram, cocaine for Rs 17,000 per gram, and brown sugar for Rs 10,000. The police, acting on credible information, apprehended them in Jubilee Hills during a drug transaction. The accused had recently visited Delhi to purchase drugs for the upcoming New Year celebrations. In addition to the narcotics, four mobile phones were confiscated from their possession.
