World-renowned writer and retired professor, Prof. Kanche Ilaiah Shepherd, acclaimed for his global literary contributions, has been selected for the prestigious ‘Ma Jati Suryudu’ Award. The distinguished honor, recognizing his significant impact on literature and societal awareness, is scheduled to be presented on the 13th of this month. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will do the honors at the award ceremony organized by Kanaka Gurupeetam Kalaburagi Division Sanstha Anthoni Bridge in Karnataka.



Prof. Kanche Ilaiah, known for his prolific writing and thought-provoking works, has not only left an indelible mark on the literary world but has also played a crucial role in promoting social consciousness. This historic moment also marks the first time the Karuba community is conferring the ‘Ma Jati Suryudu’ Award on behalf of their esteemed member. A cash prize of Rs. 50 thousand accompanies the accolade. Eminent figures like Kanaka Guru Petadhipati Sri Niranjanananda Mahaswami, Karnataka Ministers Satish Jarkiholi, Bairati Suresh, and Priyank Kharge are expected to be part of this significant ceremony.
