“All India Horticulture Show: Greenery Emphasis”
Hyderabad, February 1: The 15th Grand Nursery Mela, held under the banner of All India Horticulture, was formally inaugurated by State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao at Necklace Road People’s Plaza on Thursday. Stressing the importance of prioritizing greenery to ensure a pleasant environment for future generations, Minister Tummala expressed his delight at the continuous organization of the Mela for the past decade, offering a diverse array of plants from across the country.
“This event brings together various types of plants from different regions, along with a wide range of products such as medicinal plants and organic fertilizers,” remarked Minister Tummala. “Encouraging activities like kitchen gardens, vertical gardens, terrace gardens, and small potty gardens not only provide mental rejuvenation but also alleviate work pressure, besides contributing to environmental preservation.”
Highlighting the significance of collective responsibility in safeguarding green spaces, the Minister advocated for a concerted effort towards planting and nurturing greenery, promoting good health and a serene atmosphere within urban landscapes.
The Grand Nursery Mela, overseen by Incharge Khalid Ahmed, is scheduled to run until February 5, from 9 am to 9 pm. With over 160 stalls showcasing a diverse range of flora, including rare plants, seeds, fertilizers, and gardening equipment, the event offers a unique opportunity for city residents to explore and acquire resources for home gardens, terrace gardens, vertical gardens, and kitchen gardens.
Ahmed emphasized the availability of high-quality plants and grafted varieties, ensuring a rewarding experience for gardening enthusiasts and novices alike. The event serves as a platform for fostering a culture of sustainable horticulture and encouraging community engagement in environmental conservation efforts.
