Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Assures Housing for Journalists in Hyderabad

In a significant development for the journalistic community in Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has pledged to provide housing for journalists. This assurance came following a meeting between the CM and representatives of the Deccan Journalists Housing Society (DJHS) held at the Secretariat.

During the meeting, DJHS President Bolloju Ravi, Treasurer Chilukuri Ayyappa, Directors Danda Ramakrishna, Swami Reddy, along with members Kranti and others, presented a petition to CM Revanth Reddy advocating for housing solutions for journalists. In response, the Chief Minister affirmed his commitment to address the issue, directing the DJHS representatives to engage with Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy for further deliberations.

Highlighting the longstanding demand for housing among journalists, Bolloju Ravi expressed gratitude to CM Revanth Reddy for recognizing the importance of this issue. Ravi recalled the efforts made during the elections to include housing provisions for journalists in the Congress manifesto, emphasizing the significance of fulfilling this promise.

The Deccan Journalists Housing Society, representing over five hundred members from various newspapers and news channels, has persistently advocated for housing allocations for its members. The society’s petition to the CM underscores the diverse roles journalists play, from staff reporters to bureau chiefs, emphasizing the need for accessible housing solutions.

With the assurance from CM Revanth Reddy, the journalistic community in Hyderabad remains hopeful that their longstanding dream of owning homes will soon be realized. The commitment to provide housing reflects the government’s dedication to the welfare of all sections of society, ensuring a conducive environment for journalistic endeavors in the state.
