EaseMyTrip Plans Luxury Hotel Near Ayodhya’s Sri Ram Mandir
New Delhi, Feb 12: EaseMyTrip, a leading travel agency, has unveiled ambitious plans to construct a luxury five-star hotel near the Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The announcement sent the company’s share prices soaring on Monday, with a surge of 5.6% to Rs 53.7 per share in morning trade on the BSE.
The company’s board of directors has given the green light to invest Rs 100 crore in Jeewani Hospitality Private Limited for the implementation of the hotel project, expected to be situated approximately 1 km from the revered Sri Ram Mandir.
Nishant Pitti, CEO and co-founder of EaseMyTrip, expressed excitement about the venture into the hospitality sector, emphasizing the strategic location of the proposed hotel near the sacred site of the Sri Ram Mandir. The decision marks a significant investment milestone for the company.
Ayodhya’s forthcoming Ram Mandir is anticipated to have a substantial economic impact on the region, with tourism projected to surge to 5 crore visitors annually, according to global brokerage firm Jeffries.
Currently, Ayodhya boasts approximately 17 hotels with around 590 rooms. However, in anticipation of the increased tourist influx, 73 new hotels are in the pipeline, with 40 already under construction, as per reports.
Renowned hotel chains and hospitality companies, including IHCL, Marriott International, Wyndham, and OYO Rooms, are also planning to expand their presence in Ayodhya to accommodate the growing number of tourists and pilgrims.
The anticipated development in Ayodhya is expected to benefit various sectors, including hotels, airlines, hospitality, FMCG, travel ancillaries, and cement, contributing to the city’s transformation into a global religious and spiritual tourist destination.
