In a fiery address delivered at Medigadda, CM Revanth Reddy launched a scathing critique against Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), accusing him of mismanagement and corruption in irrigation projects. Reddy alleged that despite massive expenditure, the Kaleswaram project, touted as a milestone in irrigation infrastructure, had achieved minimal results, irrigating only a fraction of the promised land.

The CM lambasted KCR’s objections to the resolution passed by the Legislative Assembly to transfer the project’s control on the Krishna river to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). Reddy pointed out the inconsistency in KCR’s stance by highlighting the support extended to a similar resolution by KCR’s son-in-law, alleging political opportunism.

Furthermore, Reddy raised concerns about KCR’s absence from the assembly sessions, insinuating that it was driven by a fear of facing scrutiny over alleged corruption. He challenged KCR to engage in debates and confront the issues plaguing irrigation projects, including irregularities and cost escalations, particularly in the Medigadda project.

The CM accused KCR of attempting to garner sympathy through public appearances and wheelchair usage, dismissing it as a ploy to deflect attention from pressing issues. Reddy called for transparency in the handling of irrigation projects and proposed potential investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe alleged corruption.

The speech underscored growing tensions between political factions in Telangana, with Reddy’s remarks signaling intensified scrutiny and opposition to KCR’s administration.
