Tireless Efforts Ensure Uninterrupted Power Supply at Medaram Fair
In a commendable display of dedication, the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited ensured seamless electricity provision during the Medaram Fair. Led by CMD Karnati Varun Reddy, the company’s officers and staff worked tirelessly to maintain uninterrupted power supply, allowing devotees to partake in the festivities without inconvenience.
With the fair witnessing a significant influx of devotees, the load on the electricity infrastructure surged. To meet this demand, the company deployed two sub-stations, supplemented by additional arrangements to swiftly address any minor disruptions. Notably, two 8 AVA capacity power transformers were installed at Medaram Kothur sub-station, alongside two 5 AVA capacity power transformers at the Sammakka sub-station, bolstering the capacity to handle increased loads.
Furthermore, to ensure operational efficiency, a robust workforce was mobilized. Two Cesiums, four Superintending Engineers, and 10 Divisional Engineers oversaw operations, supported by 120 Assistant Divisional Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Sub Engineers. A dedicated team of 425 operation & maintenance personnel remained on duty, diligently monitoring power supply and promptly addressing any issues that arose.
Under the vigilant watch of these officers, including Directors and Superintending Engineer Officers, the fair experienced continuous illumination, with officers remaining on duty around the clock. Proactive measures, such as the installation of radio frequency (RF) technology at transformers, enabled swift detection and resolution of any issues within minutes, significantly reducing power outages.
Preemptive steps were also implemented to prevent accidents, with spacers installed every three meters along with fencing around transformers to ensure safety. Additionally, personnel swiftly responded to any disruptions, ensuring minimal downtime and a smooth experience for attendees.
With the blessings of Sammakka and Saralamma, coupled with the collaborative efforts of electricity officials, Medaram Fair attendees enjoyed uninterrupted lighting throughout the event, underscoring the company’s commitment to service and efficiency.
