
Accused Arrested for Embezzling Government Funds in Rythu Bima and Rythu Bandu Schemes
In a significant development, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Cyberabad, has apprehended the accused involved in diverting government funds allocated for the Rythu Bima and Rythu Bandu schemes. The case, registered under Cr. No. 25/2024 u/s 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 477-A IPC of Kondurg PS/EOW, pertains to fraudulent activities orchestrated by Goreti Srisailam, an Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) for the Agiryal cluster in Kondurg Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, and Odela Veera Swamy, a cab driver.
The complaint, lodged by the District Agriculture Officer of Ranga Reddy District, highlighted discrepancies in 20 claims of Rythu Bhima and 130 claims of Rythu Bandu within the Agiryal cluster. Investigation revealed that Srisailam manipulated the system by enrolling ineligible individuals and forging documents to siphon off approximately Rs. 2 crores from the schemes.

Srisailam’s modus operandi involved falsifying information and submitting fake claims, resulting in substantial losses to the government exchequer. The EOW seized incriminating evidence, including mobile phones, bank cards, forged certificates, and LIC documents, during the arrest.
Furthermore, Srisailam and his accomplice utilized the ill-gotten gains to purchase properties in various locations, all registered under the name of his wife, Smt. Maheshwari.
The investigation, led by Inspector A. Sreedhar under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner K. Prasad, underscores the commitment to uphold transparency and combat corruption within government schemes.
