Hyderabad, March 26: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao has stirred political waves by forecasting Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s potential switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a gathering of BRS leaders, Rama Rao speculated that Revanth Reddy could emerge as the first leader in the country to join the BJP following the parliamentary polls. He pointed to Revanth Reddy’s muted response to accusations regarding his ties with the BJP as suggestive of an imminent move.

The BRS leader urged the Telangana Chief Minister to publicly affirm his commitment to the Congress if he harbors no intentions of crossing party lines. Allegations have surfaced against Revanth Reddy, accusing him of extorting funds from businessmen in the state and funneling them to the Congress High Command in New Delhi, according to KTR.

Further exacerbating the controversy, KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy had dispatched a staggering Rs 2,500 crore to Delhi for the impending parliamentary elections. He attributed the accumulation of such substantial funds to Revanth Reddy’s purported suspension of building and layout permissions over the past three months, exerting pressure on real estate stakeholders for monetary contributions under the threat of approval denials.

Shifting focus to the broader political landscape, KTR predicted a dismal performance for the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, projecting a tally of fewer than 40 seats. He emphasized the pivotal role of regional political entities like Trinamool Congress (TMC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and BRS in countering the BJP’s electoral dominance nationwide, highlighting the waning influence of Congress.

The BRS leader chastised Revanth Reddy for espousing BJP ideology despite the Congress’s governance in the state, labeling him as subservient to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the “Gujarat model.” Consequently, KTR envisaged Revanth Reddy as a potential BJP entrant post the parliamentary elections.

Additionally, KTR rebuked BRS MLA Danam Nagender for defecting to the Congress, denouncing it as opportunistic politics. He pledged to contest Danam on the Secunderabad parliamentary seat and in the upcoming Khairatabad by-election, urging swift action from the Assembly Speaker on the BRS’ complaint against Danam Nagender.

Furthermore, KTR criticized Secunderabad MP and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy for his alleged lack of contribution to the city’s development, branding him an “accidental” MP and Union Minister.
