New Delhi, April 2: At a press conference held today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Minister Atishi made startling accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging a “targeted political vendetta” aimed at destabilizing her party’s unity and strength ahead of the impending Lok Sabha elections.

According to Atishi, the BJP is orchestrating a series of arrests targeting prominent AAP leaders in the coming two months, including herself, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Durgesh Pathak, and Raghav Chadha. She claimed this was a deliberate move by the BJP to dismantle AAP’s leadership hierarchy and undermine its electoral prospects.

Atishi revealed a purported attempt by a close aide associated with the BJP to entice her into joining their ranks, purportedly to safeguard her political career. She warned that refusal to comply with the BJP’s overtures could lead to her arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) within a month.

The AAP leader highlighted recent developments, citing her and Saurabh Bharadwaj’s names being mentioned by the ED in court proceedings. She asserted that these statements, in possession of both the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for over a year and a half, are already part of their charge sheets.

Atishi condemned what she sees as the BJP’s desperate attempt to revive old allegations in an effort to weaken AAP, even in the wake of prominent leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Satyendra Jain facing incarceration.

She concluded by alleging a systematic strategy by the BJP to target AAP’s leadership, aiming to undermine its foundation and diminish its electoral prospects in the upcoming battle.

Meanwhile, the ED’s recent application for judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case revealed statements suggesting Vijay Nair, a former AAP communications in charge, reported to Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj. This revelation adds to the ongoing controversy surrounding AAP and its leaders.

The unfolding drama underscores the high-stakes political maneuvering as the country braces for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with AAP and BJP locked in a bitter battle for supremacy in the national capital.
