Madhavi Raje Scindia, the mother of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, breathed her last on Wednesday morning at AIIMS, Delhi.
The erstwhile Rajmata of the Gwalior Royal Family, Mrs. Scindia, passed away at 9:28 A.M., confirmed Union Minister Scindia’s media cell. She had been on ventilator support for the past few days.
Mrs. Madhavi Raje Scindia had been undergoing treatment at the premier hospital for the last three months, battling pneumonia along with sepsis.
In an official statement, the family expressed their grief, stating, “With great sorrow, we wish to share that Rajmata is no more. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s mother and the Rajmata of the Gwalior royal family, Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia, had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi for the past two months. Her condition had been extremely critical for the past two weeks. This morning at 9:28 A.M., she took her last breath at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. Om Shanti.”
Mrs. Scindia was the wife of the late Congress leader and former Union Minister Madhavrao Scindia, who tragically lost his life in a plane crash in 2001.
The passing of Mrs. Madhavi Raje Scindia marks a significant loss not only for her family but also for the political and social circles she was deeply connected with.
