63,82,201 eye tests have been conducted
Hyderabad: The Kanti Velugu program is a public health scheme introduced by the Telangana State Government with the aim of providing health for all. The program aims to address eye-related issues among the people in the state. The program involves conducting eye exams and providing free reading glasses, medicines, and surgeries to the people in need. The government has set a target to complete the program within 100 days from January 19 to June 15, 2023, in all districts of Telangana.

To implement the Kanti Velugu program, the district collectors, medical and health officials, and officials of various departments are planning and executing camps in advance. The program is being implemented vigorously throughout the state with continuous monitoring, daily reviews, analysis, video conferences, and meetings to achieve the targets set by the government. The progress of the program is being monitored daily by the Chief Secretary. So far, 63,82,201 eye examinations have been conducted, and 11,40,050 reading glasses have been provided. Free medicines have also been distributed to lakhs of visually impaired people.
