Former India cricket captain and World Cup winner Kapil Dev has taken on the role of President at the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), marking a significant milestone for Indian professional golf.
Kapil Dev, who has been Vice President and a member of PGTI’s Governing Body for the past three years, brings a wealth of experience both as a sports icon and an avid golfer. His involvement has been instrumental in shaping and advancing Indian professional golf alongside the core team of PGTI.
“It is an honor to lead PGTI as its President, an organization I have been associated with for several years. PGTI is fundamentally about the players, many of whom I consider friends and often play alongside. Golf has become a central part of my life, and I am grateful to the players for entrusting me with this responsibility,” Kapil Dev expressed on assuming his new role.
Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of PGTI, expressed confidence in Kapil Dev’s leadership, emphasizing his stature as a sports legend synonymous with excellence. “We are privileged to have Mr. Kapil Dev, an Indian sports icon, take charge as President of PGTI.
