SC and ST Employees JAC Urges Transco CMD to Follow Reservation Rules in Promotions
Hyderabad, July 22: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of SC and ST Employees has called for strict adherence to the seniority rule of reservation and merit in promoting SC and ST employees within the electricity sector. On Monday, a JAC delegation submitted a petition to Transco CMD Ronald Rose, highlighting their concerns and demands.
JAC Chairman Shyamanohar, Co-Chairman Narayana Naik, Co-Convenor Medi Ramesh, and several other representatives participated in the meeting. During the discussion, the JAC leaders accused certain individuals of attempting to create confusion among SC and ST employees regarding the promotion process. They stressed the need for clarity and fairness, emphasizing that the rule of reservation as mandated by the constitution must be followed without deviation.
The leaders pointed out that the state government has specific orders from the General Administration Department (GAD) to implement reservation in promotions. They urged CMD Ronald Rose to ensure these orders are followed, thereby upholding the principles of justice and equality. The delegation argued that promotions should be based on both seniority and merit, in accordance with the constitutional provisions and state directives.
CMD Ronald Rose acknowledged the concerns raised by the JAC leaders and assured them that he would bring the issue to the attention of the relevant authorities. He promised to advocate for the implementation of the reservation rules in promotions and work towards a fair and transparent promotion process for SC and ST employees.
The meeting underscored the ongoing challenges faced by SC and ST employees in securing their rightful promotions and the need for continuous advocacy to ensure that the principles of reservation are upheld. The JAC leaders expressed their hope that the state government and the electricity company management would take swift action to address these issues and provide justice to the deserving employees.
In attendance at the meeting were various JAC representatives and other stakeholders, all united in their call for a fair and equitable promotion system that honors the constitutional mandate for reservation.
