
Deccan Journalist Housing Society Appeals to CM Revanth for House Plots

The Deccan Journalist Housing Society (DJHS) has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his supportive stance on providing housing for journalists. In a recent general body meeting held at the Somajiguda Press Club on Sunday, DJHS passed a resolution thanking the Chief Minister and appealing to him to announce the allocation of house plots for journalists.
The meeting was presided over by DJHS President Bolloju Ravi and attended by Vice-President Maripala Srinivas, Treasurer Chilukuri Ayyappa, and Directors Pratap Reddy, D. Ramakrishna, Nagaraju, Adviser Vikram, and members B. Suresh Babu, among others. During the meeting, President Bolloju Ravi recalled that before the elections, they had requested Revanth Reddy, who was then the President of the PCC, to include provisions for journalists’ housing in the Congress party’s manifesto. Their request was honored and included in the manifesto.


Bolloju Ravi further mentioned that after Revanth Reddy assumed the office of Chief Minister, DJHS met with him to reiterate their request. The society also met with Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Media Academy Chairman Srinivas Reddy to emphasize the need for housing for journalists. He stated that the Chief Minister had expressed a positive attitude towards this initiative on several occasions.


The DJHS is confident that under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the housing needs of journalists will be addressed. The society has requested the CM to make an official announcement next week regarding the provision of house plots to the Jawahar Lal Society. Additionally, the General Body has urged the government to establish a clear timeline for the allocation of these plots.
Several other resolutions were also passed during the meeting, emphasizing the need for prompt government action on this issue.
