The Uttar Pradesh government has established a three-member committee to investigate the tragic building collapse that occurred in Lucknow, which claimed eight lives and left 28 others injured. The incident took place on Saturday evening in the Transport Nagar area when a three-story residential building unexpectedly collapsed, trapping many residents under the rubble.

The probe committee, formed under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to uncover the details surrounding the collapse. Sanjiv Gupta, Secretary of the Home Department, will chair the committee, with Balkar Singh, Secretary of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, and Vijay Kanaujia, Chief Engineer of the Central Region in the Public Works Department, as members.

“The inquiry committee is expected to investigate the cause of the incident and submit its report to the government as soon as possible,” the official statement read.

In the aftermath of the incident, Chief Minister Adityanath visited Lokbandhu Shri Rajnarayan Combined Hospital on Sunday to meet with the injured victims. Upon returning from a tour of Gorakhpur, he went directly from the airport to the hospital, where he personally met with each patient to check on their condition and offer reassurance. He also interacted with the families of the injured, providing comfort and support during this difficult time.

CM Adityanath instructed hospital staff to ensure that the injured receive proper medical care and emphasized that no patient should face any difficulty. He assured the families that the government is fully committed to supporting them and will take all necessary steps for the victims’ recovery.
