Future City Project: Telangana’s Pride with World Trade Center on the Horizon
*Hyderabad,September 10, 2024
The Telangana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is rapidly advancing the construction of *Future City, a groundbreaking development spread over 10,124 acres, located south of Hyderabad. This ambitious project, along with the *Net Zero City, is a testament to the government’s vision of transforming the region into a global hub for innovation and sustainable living.

Future City: A City of 8 Zones
Future City will be developed across 10 villages, including Muchcherla and Mirkhanpet. It will also encompass the proposed Hyderabad Pharma City (HPC). The city is strategically divided into eight distinct zones, each catering to specific industries and purposes:
- Artificial Intelligence City
- Life Sciences Hub
- Health City
- Sports Hub
- Electronics and Advanced Manufacturing Zone
- Education and University Zone
- Residential Zone
- Mixed and Entertainment Zone
Key Allocations: Life Sciences and Electronics Manufacturing
The largest allocations within the city are dedicated to the Life Sciences Hub and Electronics Manufacturing Zone, with 4,207 acres and 3,642 acres respectively. These zones are expected to be key drivers of economic growth and innovation in the region. The Telangana government is also working on providing seamless connectivity to Future City through road and metro rail links, particularly from Shamshabad Airport and the Regional Ring Road.
Residential and Other Zones
The Residential Zone will cover 1,170 acres, providing ample housing to accommodate the growing population that will work and live in Future City. Other important zones include:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) City (140 acres): This will host an Innovation and Incubation Hub, a Center of Excellence, and an Application and Collaboration Center.
- Education and University Zone (225 acres): Recently, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for a Skill University at Meerkhanpet, within the Kandukuru mandal.
- Sports Hub (258 acres): A state-of-the-art sports club will be established here.
- Health City (116 acres)
- Entertainment Zone (336 acres): This area will feature multiplexes, parks, and hotels, catering to leisure and tourism.

World Trade Center Coming to Future City
In a major development, representatives of the World Trade Center (WTC) have committed to establishing a trade center in Future City, similar to the iconic WTC in New York. An agreement was recently signed with the Telangana government, and officials from the Revenue and Industries Department are identifying a suitable 50-acre site for the project. Additionally, the WTC representatives have requested an additional 20 acres for future parking needs, ensuring ease of access from the airport and metro stations.
With these ambitious plans, Telangana’s Future City is poised to become a global epicenter of innovation, commerce, and sustainable urban living, reflecting the state’s commitment to futuristic development.
