Police Raid on Janwada Farmhouse: Cocaine Use Detected at Rave Party Hosted by KTR’s Relative

Hyderabad October 27,2024

In a major crackdown, the Narsingi Police, Special Operations Team (SOT), and State Excise Department officials conducted a raid on a farmhouse in Janwada under Mokila Police Station limits on the night of October 26/27. The raid, which followed a tip-off about a rave party, revealed shocking details of drug use and illegal liquor consumption.

Party Details and Seizure

Upon raiding the farmhouse, authorities found 21 males and 14 females involved in a liquor-fueled party. A significant quantity of unauthorized alcohol was seized during the operation, including seven bottles of foreign liquor amounting to 10.5 liters, and 10 loose bottles of Indian liquor. The event organizers did not possess the necessary permission from the Excise Department to serve liquor at the party, which made the gathering illegal under the Excise Act.

Cocaine Use Detected

As part of the raid, police conducted drug tests on the male participants using drug testing kits. In a serious turn of events, Vijay Madduri, one of the attendees, tested positive for cocaine. Madduri was immediately sent to a hospital for a confirmatory blood test. A case has been registered against him under Section 27 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Mokila Police Station, marking him as a suspect in drug use.

Farmhouse Owned by KTR’s Brother-in-Law

Further investigation into the farmhouse revealed that it is owned by Raj Pakala, the brother-in-law of BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). KTR, formerly a key minister in Telangana, is now serving as the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). This connection has drawn widespread attention, with political circles keenly watching the developments.

Host of the Party Faces Legal Action

The investigation showed that Raj Pakala hosted the rave party without obtaining an excise license, a legal requirement for serving liquor. As a result, a case has been registered against Pakala under Sections 34(A), 34(1) read with Section 9 of the Telangana Excise Act. The charges pertain to the illegal supply and consumption of liquor, which violates the state’s stringent excise laws.

The raid also involved the use of a sniffer dog to thoroughly search the premises for any additional narcotics, but further drug seizures have not been reported.

Impact of the Raid

This high-profile raid is likely to have significant ramifications, given the involvement of a close relative of a senior political figure in Telangana. The BRS Working President, K.T. Rama Rao, has not yet commented on the incident. However, opposition parties are expected to seize on this opportunity to criticize the ruling party.

With the investigation still underway, more details are expected to emerge. The police and excise officials have indicated that they are conducting a detailed probe into the event, and additional charges may be filed depending on the outcome of the investigation.

This incident is the latest in a series of crackdowns on illegal rave parties in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, where drug abuse and unauthorized liquor consumption have been on the rise. The police are expected to intensify their efforts to curb such activities and enforce strict penalties for offenders.
