The IPL Mega Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, continues to deliver thrilling moments and record-breaking deals. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made a strategic move by acquiring seasoned pacer Mohammed Shami for ₹10 crore and Harshal Patel for ₹8 crore
Shami, known for his lethal pace and wicket-taking ability, was released by the Gujarat Titans ahead of this season’s auction. Despite his base price of ₹2 crore, there wasn’t much competition among franchises for the star bowler. Sunrisers, however, seized the opportunity, snapping him up with a clear vision for their lineup.
Earlier in the day, the auction saw staggering bids for top players. Punjab Kings grabbed Shreyas Iyer for ₹26.75 crore, briefly setting a record, only for Lucknow Super Giants to surpass it by buying Rishabh Pant for ₹27 crore.
Harshal Patel , who is renowned player in IPL who has received “The Purple Cap” in IPL 2024 has been secured by SRH for ₹8 Crores and he will play IPL 2025 for SRH.
