High Court Defers Urgent Petition by Allu Arjun to Afternoon Hearing
Hyderabad, December 13,2024: In connection with the Sandhya Theater incident, film actor Allu Arjun filed an urgent petition in the High Court seeking relief. He had earlier filed a quash petition, requesting it be taken up immediately. However, the High Court declined to hear the matter in the morning session, scheduling it for the afternoon. The hearing was further postponed to 4 PM.
Court Questions Delay in Mentioning the Petition
The High Court questioned Allu Arjun’s counsel about the timing of the petition, asking why it had not been mentioned during the morning session at 10:30 AM if it was urgent. Senior advocate Niranjan Reddy, representing Allu Arjun, informed the court that the quash petition had been filed on Wednesday and requested that it be treated as a lunch motion petition due to the urgency. The Public Prosecutor (PP), however, opposed the lunch motion hearing, stating it was inappropriate to seek relief at 1:30 PM.
Plea for Police Action Suspension
Allu Arjun’s counsel also urged the court to instruct the police not to take any action in the case until Monday. In response, the government’s lawyer assured the court that details would be collected from the police and submitted at 4 PM. Consequently, the court deferred the hearing to the afternoon.
Police Confirm Arrest of Allu Arjun
Meanwhile, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand confirmed Allu Arjun’s arrest in connection with the incident at Sandhya Theater. Law and Order Commissioner Vikram Singh Mann disclosed that the actor underwent a medical examination at Gandhi Hospital and would be produced in court following the procedure.
The case continues to draw significant attention, with further updates awaited during the next hearing.
