Infosys to Create 17,000 New Jobs in Telangana, Expands Pocharam IT Campus

Infosys Limited, one of India’s leading IT giants, is set to expand its IT campus in Pocharam, Hyderabad, creating 17,000 new job opportunities. The announcement was made during the World Economic Forum in Davos, following a high-level meeting between Infosys Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jayesh Sanghrajka and Telangana IT and Industries Minister Shri D. Sridhar Babu.

Currently employing over 35,000 professionals, Infosys’ Pocharam campus is already among the company’s largest facilities in the country. The proposed expansion will significantly increase the campus’ capacity, solidifying Hyderabad’s position as a leading hub for IT and innovation in India.

Major Investment in Infrastructure

As part of the expansion plan, Infosys will invest ₹750 crore in the first phase of construction, which is expected to be completed within the next 2-3 years. This phase will include the development of state-of-the-art IT buildings designed to accommodate an additional 10,000 employees. Subsequent phases will contribute to the creation of a total of 17,000 new jobs.

Boost to Telangana’s IT Ecosystem

This strategic initiative is expected to further enhance Telangana’s thriving IT ecosystem, reinforcing its status as a preferred destination for technology companies. Telangana has already made a name for itself as one of India’s leading states in attracting IT investments, and this collaboration with Infosys is set to elevate the state’s reputation even further.

Speaking on the occasion, Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering growth in Telangana. “Our partnership with the Government of Telangana reflects our shared vision of driving innovation, empowering communities, and strengthening the IT landscape. We are excited about the opportunities this expansion will create for local talent and the industry.”

Telangana IT and Industries Minister Shri D. Sridhar Babu echoed this sentiment, highlighting the state government’s commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities. “The Government of Telangana remains dedicated to fostering strategic alliances, encouraging sustainable growth, and propelling the state’s economy forward. This expansion by Infosys is a testament to our proactive approach to industry partnerships.”

Driving Sustainable Growth

The Infosys expansion aligns with Telangana’s broader mission to support the technology sector and attract global leaders to invest in the region. The new facilities will not only provide employment opportunities but also contribute to sustainable growth by integrating cutting-edge technologies, green building practices, and enhanced infrastructure.

With this expansion, Infosys continues to play a pivotal role in the transformation of Hyderabad into a global IT powerhouse. The collaboration between Infosys and the Government of Telangana exemplifies a shared commitment to driving innovation and building a brighter, technology-driven future for the state and the nation.
