Hyderabad, March 16
A tragic incident occurred on Thursday night when a massive fire broke out in the Swapnalok Complex in Secundrabad, claiming the lives of six young people under the age of 25. The deceased have been identified as Pramila, Shravani, Vennela, Triveni, and Shiva Prashanth. The fire reportedly started on the 7th and 8th floors of the complex, which houses private offices and clothing warehouses, before spreading to the 5th and 6th floors.
Upon learning of the incident, firefighters rushed to the scene and began to extinguish the flames. However, many people working in the building were trapped, and some lost consciousness due to the smoke. Emergency evacuation efforts were made, and all 13 people were rescued with the help of heavy cranes. Unfortunately, five of the rescued victims were pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Gandhi and Apollo Hospitals. The doctors determined that all of them had died due to asphyxiation.
The fire department personnel also performed CPR on some of the rescued victims who had lost consciousness. Four other people are currently receiving treatment at Yashoda Hospital. Meanwhile, three individuals managed to escape safely. The authorities evacuated people from nearby residences as a precautionary measure due to the intensity of the fire.
State ministers Mahmood Ali, Talasani Srinivasyadav, and city mayor Gadwala Vijayalakshmi, along with the collector, arrived at the scene to oversee the rescue and relief operations. After four hours of intense efforts, the fire was finally brought under control at 11 pm. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, and the initial findings suggest that a short circuit was the cause of the fire.
An investigation is underway in the Swapna Lok Complex in Secunderabad following a devastating fire that claimed the lives of six young individuals. The Clues team has been dispatched to the scene to search for any evidence that may shed light on the cause of the accident. According to the staff conducting the investigation, the fifth floor of the complex has been completely burnt, and they have found burnt wires and plastic materials, indicating that the fire may have started due to an electrical issue. The authorities are urging people to prioritize fire safety measures and to take all necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
