Telangana Government Releases Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa Funds for Labourers
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has released funds under the Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme for labourers in the joint Ranga Reddy and joint Mahabubnagar districts, where the election code is not in force.
The scheme, launched on January 26, aims to provide financial support to labourers across the state. Initially, village assemblies were conducted in one pilot village per mandal, and funds were deposited directly into the accounts of eligible beneficiaries. A total of 18,180 labourers received ₹6,000 each under this phase.
However, with the enforcement of the election code ahead of the council elections, the scheme was temporarily halted. Responding to an appeal from Minister Seethakka, the government decided to release the funds in districts unaffected by the code.
As a result, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa was distributed to 66,240 labourers in joint Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts, with ₹39.74 crore deposited into their accounts. So far, the government has disbursed ₹50.65 crore under the scheme, benefiting a total of 83,420 labourers.
The government has assured that Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa payments will resume for all remaining beneficiaries as soon as the election code is lifted. Under this initiative, ₹6,000 is provided to each labourer per season, with funds directly transferred to their accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The Telangana government has positioned itself as a leader in labour welfare, ensuring financial security for those who rely on daily wages.
