SCCL Deploys 200 Personnel for SLBC Tunnel Rescue Operations
Hyderabad, February 28, 2025:
The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has deployed 200 personnel to aid in the ongoing SLBC tunnel rescue operations, following instructions from the government. The workers have been organized into four shifts to ensure a continuous and coordinated effort in rescuing the eight trapped workers after the slab collapse inside the tunnel.

Highly Skilled Teams Leading the Operation
According to SCCL officials, the personnel involved in the rescue mission are highly trained and experienced in handling specialized cutting equipment crucial for the operation. Additionally, first aid-trained staff are part of the rescue teams to provide immediate medical assistance if required.
The primary focus of the operation is to restore the track line leading to the tunnel boring machine, which is essential for facilitating access to the affected area. Simultaneously, teams are removing slush and debris, loading them into tubs to clear the pathway efficiently.

Challenges and Ongoing Efforts
Officials stated that the rescue operation is complex due to the nature of the collapse and the tunnel’s structural conditions. Despite these challenges, SCCL teams are working tirelessly to ensure the safe recovery of the trapped workers.

Authorities have assured that every possible measure is being taken to expedite the process while prioritizing the safety of both the trapped workers and the rescue teams. Given the technical challenges and the extent of debris, officials have indicated that the operation will take time but remain hopeful for a successful outcome.
Further updates will be provided as the situation progresses.
