New Delhi, April 10, 2025: In a major drug bust, the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport intercepted an Indian national and seized over 3.3 kg of cocaine worth approximately ₹46.44 crore in the international market.
The operation, carried out during the night shift on April 9-10, was based on specific intelligence. Officers intercepted a 23-year-old male passenger who had arrived from Entebbe via Sharjah on Air Arabia Flight No. G9-463. He was stopped after crossing the Green Channel.

During an X-ray screening of his baggage, officials detected signs of suspicious concealment. The passenger was immediately taken to the Preventive Room, where a detailed examination was conducted in the presence of two independent witnesses (panchas).
A thorough search led to the recovery of six packets of white powder cleverly concealed within the periphery of the baggage. Preliminary testing using the NDPS Field Test Kit confirmed the substance to be cocaine.
- Gross weight (including packaging): 3,616 grams
- Net weight: 3,317 grams (3.317 kg)
