Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Hails Osmania Hospital Doctors for Life-Saving Effort
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has lauded the doctors at Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad, for their swift and life-saving treatment of a critically ill youth from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, after a private hospital reportedly refused to admit him.
Taking to social media platform X, CM Revanth Reddy expressed his gratitude and admiration for doctors Ranga Ajmeera, Vikram, and their team, saying:
“You have proved that when government doctors are committed, even the impossible becomes possible. Your efforts will go a long way in changing public perception about government hospitals.”
Youth Denied Admission at Private Hospital
The patient, Hemanth, 22, was en route to Shirdi with his family on March 30 when he began experiencing severe stomach pain and difficulty in breathing. Upon reaching a private hospital, the family was dismayed to find that doctors there refused to admit him due to the critical nature of his condition.
With few options left, the family rushed Hemanth to Osmania General Hospital, even though it was a holiday on account of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year. Despite limited staff, the general surgery department responded without delay.
Medical tests, including an ultrasound, revealed that Hemanth had a hole in his intestine, a life-threatening condition requiring immediate surgery.
Successful Surgery and Recovery
Doctors Ranga Ajmeera, Vikram, and their team quickly performed surgery. Hemanth was kept under observation and treatment for 10 days, making a complete recovery before being discharged last week.
His family has since expressed heartfelt thanks to the doctors for saving his life, calling their work “nothing short of a miracle.”
A Role Model for Public Healthcare
CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that such acts of dedication and excellence reinforce public trust in government hospitals.
“You are a role model for every doctor and staff member working in government hospitals across Telangana,” he said in his post.
This incident has since gone viral online, receiving praise from citizens and health advocates who see it as a shining example of the potential and humanity within India’s public healthcare system.
