Hyderabad ACB Arrests TGSPDCL Engineer in DA Case; Properties Worth Crores Unearthed

Hyderabad, September 16 – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Telangana, has registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against Ambedkar Erugu, Assistant Divisional Engineer (Operations), TGSPDCL, Ibrahimbagh, Hyderabad, for allegedly amassing wealth far beyond his known sources of income.

ACB teams carried out simultaneous searches at the officer’s residence and 10 other locations linked to him and his relatives. The raids uncovered a staggering list of properties, including:

  • A flat in Sherlingampally
  • A G+5 building in Gachibowli
  • A chemical company, Amthar Chemicals, set up on 10 acres of land
  • Six prime residential plots in Hyderabad
  • Farmland and two four-wheelers
  • Large quantities of gold ornaments and bank deposits

During the searches, officials also seized ₹2.18 crore in cash from the residence of a suspected benami associated with the accused.

Authorities stated that the assets were acquired through unlawful practices and misuse of his official position. The officer has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody, while further investigation is underway.

The ACB emphasized that the total market value of the seized assets is expected to be much higher than the official estimates.

Meanwhile, the Bureau urged citizens to report instances of bribery by contacting the toll-free helpline 1064 or via WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), and X (@TelanganaACB). The identity of complainants will be kept strictly confidential.
