Later in the evening, at 4:00 pm, President Murmu inaugurated the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav 2025 at the historic Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bollaram, Secunderabad. Organised by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the President’s Estate, the festival celebrates India’s vast artistic heritage through curated exhibitions, live performances, traditional crafts, and cultural showcases.
This year’s edition places a special spotlight on:
- Tribal art traditions from central and northeastern India
- Handloom and traditional textile clusters
- Classical and folk performing arts
- Demonstrations by master artisans and award-winning craftspersons
Visitors will also have access to the sprawling 88-acre Rashtrapati Nilayam campus, including its beautifully landscaped gardens, the herbal park, nature trails, and the newly set-up musical fountain, which was introduced as part of recent beautification initiatives to make the premises more visitor-friendly.
Officials said the festival is expected to draw thousands of art lovers, students, and tourists over the weekend, highlighting Hyderabad’s growing prominence as a cultural hub.
Departure to Andhra Pradesh
President Murmu will conclude her Hyderabad engagements on Saturday morning. She is scheduled to depart from Begumpet Airport at 9:15 am, following which she will fly to Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh to visit the Sri Sathya Sai Ashram and participate in a series of spiritual and public programmes.
First Visit After Assuming Office

Her presence at the Rashtrapati Nilayam reaffirms the cultural and historical significance of the President’s Southern Retreat, which has increasingly become a key venue for national cultural initiatives and public outreach programmes.
