Plane Crashes Onto Moving Car on Florida’s I-95 — All Survive in Stunning Miracle Escape

Cocoa, Florida, December 8, 2025: In a jaw-dropping incident that stunned motorists and shocked millions online, a twin-engine aircraft crash-landed onto a moving car on Interstate 95 in Brevard County on Monday evening—yet remarkably, all three people involved survived with only minor injuries.

The accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on the southbound lanes of I-95 near Cocoa. According to preliminary reports, the Beechcraft Baron 55 (registration N95KC) had taken off minutes earlier from the Space Coast Regional Airport when it experienced a sudden engine failure. The 27-year-old pilot from Orlando immediately declared an emergency and attempted to turn back toward the runway. However, with both engines losing power, the aircraft rapidly descended toward the busy highway below.

A Crash Straight Out of an Action Movie

Dramatic dashcam footage, which has since gone viral across social media, captures the terrifying moment the powerless aircraft clipped the rear of a Toyota Camry traveling at highway speed. The impact sent the plane skidding, bouncing, and spinning across multiple lanes in a shower of sparks before collapsing onto its belly.
The Camry’s trunk was crushed and its rear frame mangled beyond recognition.

Yet in an astonishing stroke of luck, the 57-year-old woman driving the Toyota sustained only minor injuries. She was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The pilot and his 27-year-old passenger from Temple Terrace managed to climb out of the crumpled cockpit on their own and also suffered only minor injuries.

“Nothing Short of a Miracle”

Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Kim Montes described the survival of all involved as extraordinary.

“It’s nothing short of a miracle,” she said. “In thirty years of service, I have never seen an aircraft collide with a moving vehicle at highway speeds and everyone walk away with minimal injuries.”

Emergency teams from Brevard County Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol arrived within minutes. Authorities temporarily shut down all southbound lanes of I-95 for several hours to clear the wreckage and ensure the roadway was safe for traffic.

Federal Investigation Underway

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a joint investigation into the rare highway crash. Early findings suggest a total loss of engine power shortly after takeoff, but investigators will examine mechanical components, flight path data, maintenance records and witness statements before issuing a final report.

Viral Video Captivates Millions

The dashcam footage, recorded by motorist Jim Kalaf, has already racked up millions of views online. Viewers are calling it “the most unbelievable highway crash ever caught on video,” with many expressing amazement at the survival of everyone involved.

Authorities have withheld the identities of all three individuals, citing privacy concerns. More information is expected to be released as the FAA and NTSB investigations progress.
