Boston, July 10 (IST): France will take on Morocco in a high-stakes FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinal, with both teams battling for a place in the last four of the tournament.

France enter the contest as one of the tournament favourites after defeating Paraguay 1-0 in the Round of 16. Les Bleus have looked defensively solid and possess one of the strongest squads remaining in the competition, with their blend of experience and attacking quality making them favourites to progress.

Morocco, however, have once again emerged as the tournament’s surprise package. After knocking out Canada with an impressive 3-0 victory in the Round of 16, the Atlas Lions have shown resilience, tactical discipline and clinical finishing. Their performances have reinforced their reputation as one of the toughest teams to break down.

The quarterfinal promises to be a fascinating tactical battle. France are expected to dominate possession and create chances through their dynamic attack, while Morocco will rely on their compact defence and quick counter-attacks to trouble the French backline.

With a place in the World Cup semi-finals at stake, both sides are expected to leave everything on the pitch in what could be one of the most exciting knockout matches of the tournament.
