As part of a massive karate demonstration held at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, on 26 April 2026, a total of 1,212 students performed Basic Karate Kata continuously for 30 minutes, thereby creating a new Guinness World Record by surpassing the previous record of 875 participants.

A grand certificate distribution ceremony was subsequently organized at GVR Karate Academy to present the Guinness World Book of Records certificates to the students of GVR Karate Academy and Gladiator Karate Academy who had participated in this historic achievement.

The students who received the certificates on this occasion were Vali Chandra Shekar, Paloji Sai Raj, Avigna Venkat Reddy, Vali Vignesh, Muunja Varnika, Alanki Avyukth, Sannvi Reddy, and Yedishetty Sathwik Sai.

The programme was graced by Sri Giri Raju, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, City Security Wing, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. A. Bala Raju, Vice Principal of the Government College of Physical Education, Domalguda, attended as the Guest of Honour.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Sri Giri Raju congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement and described the world record as a significant accomplishment. He stated that martial arts such as karate help in developing discipline, self-confidence, leadership qualities, and self-defence skills among students. He further expressed his hope that these young achievers would attain greater success at national and international levels and bring further recognition to the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. A. Bala Raju stated that performing Basic Karate Kata continuously for 30 minutes was not an easy task and appreciated the students for their physical endurance, concentration, and determination. He congratulated the students, coaches, and organizers for creating history by surpassing the previous world record.

The programme was attended by Dr. G. S. Gopal Reddy, Founder and Director of GVR Karate Academy; Sri Praveen Chary, Founder of Gladiator Karate Academy; GVR Karate Academy Black Belt Amrutha Reddy; students; and parents.
