New Delhi: Pakistan has reacted sharply to Discovery Channel’s two-part documentary “Declassified: Operation Sindoor,” which was premiered on August 15, with the country’s military establishment questioning India’s account of the operation.

The documentary features Indian military leaders and personnel involved in Operation Sindoor, offering insights into the planning and execution of the operation launched by the Indian armed forces following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, dismissed the documentary as India’s own depiction of the operation and questioned New Delhi’s claim of achieving 100 per cent success.

According to officials cited in the assessment, the documentary has once again brought the impact of Operation Sindoor into focus within Pakistan. The operation reportedly caused significant damage to terror infrastructure associated with groups including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen, including training facilities and other key installations.

Security and intelligence officials believe the strong reaction from the Pakistani establishment reflects concerns over renewed scrutiny of the operation and its consequences. The documentary is also being viewed as a fresh challenge to Pakistan’s narrative surrounding the military confrontation.

Officials further alleged that Pakistan has intensified its information warfare against India since Operation Sindoor, with social media accounts allegedly linked to Pakistani military and intelligence networks being used to circulate narratives aimed at undermining the Indian armed forces.

Indian intelligence agencies are reportedly monitoring such online activity, particularly the circulation of manipulated videos, images and misleading claims intended to discredit the Indian military and the Union government.

According to officials, attempts to challenge the documentary could also be aimed at influencing international viewers and creating doubts over India’s account of Operation Sindoor.

The latest developments indicate that the information battle surrounding Operation Sindoor is continuing even after the military operation itself. The documentary has brought renewed attention to the planning, execution and reported impact of the operation, while Pakistan’s response signals that the issue remains highly sensitive for its military establishment.
