CM KCR conducts review meeting to plan grand celebration for Dr. BR Ambedkar’s statue unveiling on April 14th
During a review meeting conducted by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (CM KCR), several decisions were taken to celebrate the unveiling of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s statue in a grand manner on April 14th. The ceremony is set to be a historic event and a festival of eyes that will make the nation proud.
To pay tribute to the founder of the Indian Constitution and Telangana, a special helicopter will shower flowers over the statue. A huge garland of roses, white chrysanthemums, and betel leaves will also be made.
The statue, which stands at 125 feet, will have a huge curtain that will be removed using a crane to unveil it. Only Buddhist monks will be invited to attend the program, which will be conducted in their traditional way.
In addition to Secretariat staff officers, HODs of all departments, District Collectors, State Ministers, MPs (Rajya Sabha Lok Sabha), MLCs, MLAs, and State Corporation Chairmen will also be in attendance. The government has taken action to ensure that 35,700 people from all 119 constituencies attend the event, with 300 people from each constituency. 750 RTC buses will also be booked for public transport.
Arrangements have been made for food, with dinner provided for those who attend the meeting within 50 kilometers of Hyderabad. One lakh sweet packets, one and a half lakh Salla packets (Vijaya Dairy), and one and a half lakh water packets will also be made available for the public.
As a large number of people are expected to attend, the entire area around the statue will be utilized, with shamianas arranged to protect the public from the heat of the sun. The Hyderabad CP will be responsible for parking vehicles, and alternative routes will be arranged to avoid inconvenience to common commuters.
Cultural programs will be organized on this occasion, including games and songs. Only songs related to Ambedkar will be sung. The Chief Secretary to the Government, Shanti Kumari, will personally check all the arrangements.
Prakash Ambedkar, the great-grandson of Dr. BR Ambedkar, will be the chief guest for the unveiling ceremony. Advertisements will be issued in print and electronic media across the country to highlight the greatness of Ambedkar Mahasaya.
A committee consisting of Ministers Harish Rao, Koppula Eshwar, and Prashant Reddy will take appropriate action in this regard and supervise the arrangements related to the unveiling of the statue and the meeting. LED screens will be arranged for the audience, with 40 thousand chairs provided for their comfort. Passes will be prepared and issued for selected invitees, intellectuals, and other dignitaries concerned.
The ceremony will begin at 2 PM and end at 5 PM on April 14th. The Chief Secretary to the Government, Shanti Kumari, will deliver the inaugural address. Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar will give a speech, followed by a message from the chief guest Prakash Ambedkar. CM KCR will then deliver a message, with the meeting concluding with a vote of thanks by Rahul Bojja, Principal Secretary, Welfare Department. The architect of the Ambedkar statue, Ram Vanji Sutar from Maharashtra, will be felicitated by the state government.
