Hyderabad, April 6: Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and DGP Anjani Kumar felicitated Nikhat Zareen, the World Boxing Champion in the 50 kg category, with flowers and a gold medal today. The felicitation ceremony took place at BR KR Bhavan, where Nikhat Zareen paid a courtesy call to Shanti Kumari.
Nikhat Zareen’s victory at the 2023 World Boxing Championship has brought glory not only to India but also to Telangana, and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari congratulated her on this achievement. DGP Anjani Kumar praised Nikhat Zareen and said that she has created history by becoming the second Indian boxer to win the world championship title more than once. He also added that Nikhat Zareen is a role model for young athletes today.
The felicitation ceremony was also attended by Sports and Youth Welfare Department Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and SC Development Department Secretary Rahul Bojjalu. The event was a grand success, and the entire state celebrated Nikhat Zareen’s historic victory.
