Hyderabad, April 10 : – Telangana state government has directed officials to set up check posts at state borders to prevent the sale of grains from border states to Telangana. The state government has also ordered the collection of pending Custom Milling Rice (CMR) within April 30th..
Ministers Harish Rao, Ganguly Kamalakar, and Niranjan Reddy reviewed the collection of Paddy through 7100 centers across the state at BRK Bhawan in Hyderabad on Monday. The ministers instructed officials to start buying paddy from Tuesday itself and prepare district level action plans. They also suggested identifying intermediate godowns for storage of paddy and submitting a report to the government.
Telangana is the only state in the country to harvest paddy grains in two seasons, with half of the country’s crop in Rabi grown in Telangana. The state government is providing farmers with farmer Rythu bandhu(input subsidy) insurance, free electricity, and newly undertaken Irrigation water projects. The ministers said that grain yield and procurement are increasing day by day in the state.


The meeting was attended by Civil Supplies Chairman Ravinder Singh, CS Shanthi Kumari, Finance Special, CS Ramakrishna Rao, Agriculture Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Civil Supplies Commissioner Anil Kumar, State Rice Millers Association President Nagender, , Additional State Collectors, Civil Supplies Officers, Heads of all district officers.
