Offers to Take Oath at Bhagyalakshmi Temple
Hyderabad, April 21 – The President of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Revanth Reddy, has refuted allegations made by BJP MLA Etala Rajender that he had taken money from the ruling party BRS during the previous by-election. Reddy stated that every rupee spent in the election belonged to the Congress and that he did not receive any funds from BRS or KCR. He took the allegations seriously and challenged Rajender to prove them against him.
Reddy announced that he would take an oath at the Charminar Bhagyalakshmi Ammavari temple, which is significant to the BJP, at 6 pm on Saturday. He stated that he would take the oath at any temple, even in wet clothes, if he did not believe in the Bhagyalakshmi goddess. He challenged those who made the accusations against him to be present at the Bhagyalakshmi temple with spears at 6 pm on Sunday. He condemned the use of spears for political purposes, calling it an unforgivable crime.
Reddy clarified that the Congress workers had raised every rupee spent in the previous by-elections. The leaders of various sections of the Congress party, including those from the weaker sections such as BCs, SCs, and STs, provided financial assistance. Reddy stated that it was disrespectful to insult their hard work and financial support by making unfounded allegations. He reiterated that he did not take any funds from BRS or KCR.
The Congress party leaders, along with AICC secretaries Uttam Kumar Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka, have come out in support of Reddy. They have vouched for his integrity and honesty and called for an end to the baseless accusations. Reddy has challenged his accusers to provide evidence and prove their claims within 24 hours.
