

Farmers in several districts of Telangana are facing severe difficulties due to the continuous untimely rains that have been pouring from week day’s. The recent rains have caused heavy damage to crops of paddy, maize, and mango, as well as Rabi crops that were in the harvesting stage. The harvested crops are also being affected, with grain getting wet in the centers due to lack of proper arrangements to protect them from the rains.

In some areas, the paddy fields that were ready for harvesting have fallen and were damaged due to heavy rains and hailstorms. Farmers are worried about the unexpected hail rains, which could cause further damage to the crops. The mango crop has also been severely affected, with many trees falling without a single fruit on the tree.





The farmers’ associations have alleged that the authorities have completely failed to provide minimum facilities to the farmers at the paddy purchase centers. They are facing serious difficulties as they are not able to protect their harvested crops from the rains. The lack of dryers or spinners for farmers to dry the wet grain is adding to their woes.

Farmers l from Peddapally district are worried that the lorries will not be able to come and take the bags as it has been raining for a month since the fields have been cut. The situation is dire, and the farmers are suffering untold losses due to untimely rains.
