Two Maoists killed in exchange of fire with security forces in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The incident occurred during combing operations in the Puttapadu forest of Cherla mandal. While two Maoists were killed, others managed to escape deep into the forest. Telangana Police chief Anjani Kumar had recently warned against complacency in tackling Maoists, especially in areas bordering neighbouring states with Maoist presence. The DGP asked police personnel not to lower their guard in the wake of the killing of security personnel and civilians in Chhattisgarh. Officials have been advised to take adequate precautions for security during the visits of political dignitaries and VVIPs in the state.
