
Hyderabad May 9:
Hyderabad is gearing up for the Bonalu festival which is set to begin on June 22 and will continue for a month. The festival will commence with the first bonam at Ellamma in Golconda fort where ministers from the endowment department will present silk clothes to Goddess Jagadambika Mahankali. The festival will be observed every Thursday and Sunday, with the ninth bonam falling on July 20th.


According to Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Lashkar Bonalu, which is traditionally held in Secunderabad, will take place on July 9. The minister made the announcement during his participation in the swearing-in program of the new governing body of Ujjain Maha Kali Temple in Secunderabad. Following the Lashkar Bonalu, the Rangam will be organized on the 10th.


The Bonalu festival is a significant cultural event in Hyderabad, celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm. It is an occasion to pay tribute to the goddess Mahankali and seek her blessings for prosperity and well-being. The festival attracts a large number of devotees from across the state and is an essential part of the Telangana cultural heritage.
