K’taka poll result will have no bearing on T’gana, says KTR
Hyderabad, May 13: Telangana’s ruling party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has stated that the outcome of the assembly elections in Karnataka will not have any impact on Telangana.
In a tweet on Saturday, BRS working president and Telangana minister K.T. Rama Rao, commonly known as KTR, stated, “Just the way The Kerala Story failed to amuse people of Karnataka, similarly Karnataka election results will have no bearing on Telangana.”
KTR, who is currently visiting the UK, expressed gratitude to the people of Karnataka for rejecting ‘ugly and divisive politics’.
“Let Hyderabad and Bengaluru compete healthily for investments & creating infrastructure for the greater good of India,” KTR said. He is the minister for information technology and industries in Telangana.
Furthermore, KTR extended his best wishes to the new Congress government in Karnataka.
KTR’s statement that the Karnataka verdict will not affect Telangana comes in response to the claim made by Telangana Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy that the Karnataka poll outcome will be replicated in Telangana.
The assembly elections in Telangana are scheduled to take place towards the end of the year.
BRS, which formed the first government in the newly formed state in 2014 and retained power in 2018, is confident of achieving a hat-trick.
Despite the Congress party claiming credit for the formation of Telangana state, it failed to make a significant impact, but it hopes to reverse its political fortunes in the state in 2023.
The Congress camp appears optimistic following the outcome in Karnataka, where the BJP failed to retain power.
Congress leaders believe that their party will replicate its performance in Telangana, despite the BJP’s claims of emerging as the primary challenger to the BRS.
