Bhuvaneswari, wife of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, joined her son Nara Lokesh’s ongoing padyatra on Monday.
Bhuvaneswari, the daughter of TDP founder and late Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, accompanied Lokesh on the 100th day of his padyatra, along with other family members. The TDP general secretary resumed his foot march from the campsite in the Srisailam constituency.
Lokesh tied his mother’s shoelaces during the padyatra, demonstrating a gesture of respect and support. Bhuvaneswari’s sister Lokeshwari and other family members also joined the padyatra. A large number of TDP leaders and workers joined the walkathon as well.
To commemorate the 100th day of the padyatra titled ‘Yuva Galam’ (youth’s voice), Lokesh unveiled a pylon at Matukuru. Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu expressed his wishes to Nara Lokesh on completing 100 days of the padyatra through a tweet. Naidu emphasized that the time spent on the road would have brought Lokesh closer to understanding and addressing the real problems of the people, while acknowledging that there are still many more miles to go.
On January 27, Lokesh had embarked on a state-wide padyatra covering 4,000 km, starting from his father’s constituency in Kuppam. This walkathon aims to traverse 120 Assembly constituencies over 400 days across the state. So far, it has covered a distance of 1,200 km.
However, tragedy struck Lokesh’s family on the first day of the padyatra. His cousin and actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna collapsed during the padyatra due to a cardiac arrest.
