
Telangana State Government to Provide Financial Support to Traditional Occupation Communities
Hyderabad May 29:In a recent meeting, the Chief Minister (CM) reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting communities engaged in traditional occupations. The CM made it explicitly clear that the state government will extend financial assistance to various castes belonging to Backward Class (BC) and Most Backward Class (MBC) categories, such as Rajaka, Nai Brahmin, Pusala, Budagajangala, and others, who rely on their traditional occupations.
Gangula Kamalakar, the Chairman of the Subcommittee and BC Welfare Minister, briefed CM KCR on the government’s previously announced plan to provide phased financial assistance of Rs one lakh to these communities. Responding to this, the CM directed the minister to expedite the finalization of procedures and launch the scheme on Welfare Day.
The meeting was attended by Ministers Gangula Kamalakar and Srinivas Goud, MLCs Madhusudhanachari, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Sheri Subhash Reddy, Despathi Srinivas, MLAs Jeevan Reddy, Chief Advisor to the Government Rajeev Sharma, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Somesh Kumar, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Secretaries to CM Rajasekhar Reddy, Bhupal Reddy, Smita Sabharwal, CM OSD Sridhar Desh Pandey, Special Chief Secretary of the Finance Department Ramakrishna Rao, Singareni CMD Sridhar, Principal Secretary of the Roads and Buildings Department Srinivas Raju, EE Shasidhar, and others.
The subcommittee is expected to finalize the modalities within the next two days, bringing the state government closer to implementing the financial support scheme for communities engaged in traditional occupations.
