Hyderabad, June 13: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao highlighted Telangana as a model for women’s welfare in the country. As part of the state’s Formation Day celebrations, KTR took to Twitter to commend the state government’s efforts in women’s welfare activities.

In his tweet, KTR stated, “She is not half of the sky, she is the sky,” emphasizing that women are not just a part of welfare initiatives but are the fundamental focus. He proudly stated that the Telangana government takes care of women at every stage, from newborn baby girls to elderly women.

KTR highlighted the provision of nutrition kits to pregnant women as the first step towards building a healthy Telangana. He also mentioned the distribution of Rs 13,000 along with the KCR kit to celebrate the birth of a baby girl as a blessing, akin to Goddess Lakshmi entering the household.

The BRS leader further discussed initiatives such as residential schools for girls, which aim to provide quality education equivalent to corporate institutions. He also praised the “She Teams” of the state police, who act as a protective shield for girls, and the “We Hub” program that trains women to become entrepreneurs.

In a series of tweets, KTR mentioned other women-centric schemes, including 50% reservation for women in local institutions, percentage reservation in market committees, distribution of sarees during the Bathukamma festival, financial assistance for marriage under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, and monthly pension for single women and widows.

KTR proudly declared that Telangana has no competition when it comes to the welfare and empowerment of women. The state’s comprehensive approach towards women’s welfare has made it a shining example for the entire nation.
