Hyderabad, July 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Telangana on July 8 to lay the foundation stone for the Railway Wagon Manufacturing unit in Hanumakonda, Warangal district.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Railway Coach Periodic Overhauling facility, as announced by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, G. Union Minister. The Minister made this announcement on Sunday after inspecting the site where the unit is being established. He held discussions with senior officials from South Central Railway and other departments regarding the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.
The wagon manufacturing unit in Hanumakonda is expected to have a monthly production capacity of 200 wagons. Notably, instead of a Rail Coach Factory, the Prime Minister has approved the establishment of a Wagon Manufacturing Unit for Telangana. Further details about the unit will be revealed with the Prime Minister’s permission. The Union Minister expressed hope that the unit would generate employment opportunities for the local population.
In addition to the wagon manufacturing unit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for highway development projects amounting to Rs. 5,587 crore. He will also inaugurate the Greenfield Highway project, which is estimated to cost Rs. 1,127 crore. The Prime Minister is set to address a public meeting at Arts College Grounds in Warangal as well.

The Union Minister accused the Telangana state government of attempting to defame the central government by alleging discrimination against Telangana. He emphasized that the Centre does not discriminate against any state and is actively working towards the development of highways and infrastructure.
The Centre has also allocated funds for the renovation of the historic thousand pillar temple in Warangal. Additionally, the Centre has allocated Rs. 500 crore for land acquisition to develop the Regional Ring Road (RRR) that will connect 10 districts around Hyderabad. The estimated cost of the RRR project is Rs. 26,000 crore, and the Centre will bear the entire expense once the state government completes the land acquisition process.
While the Centre has already provided Rs. 500 crore for land acquisition, the state government has not allocated any funds for this purpose, according to the Union Minister. He further revealed that the Centre has proposed the development of the Outer Ring Rail along the 350 km long Regional Ring Road and has allocated funds for the survey of the Outer Ring Rail project.
The Centre has also approved the extension of the MMTS train to Yadadri to facilitate pilgrims. However, the project has been delayed due to the state government’s failure to provide the necessary funds. The Union Minister assured that the Centre would sanction the required funds for the project, even if the state government does not contribute.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Telangana is expected to mark the commencement of several crucial development projects in the region.
