Hyderabad, July 4: President Droupadi Murmu graced the closing ceremony of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Alluri Sitarama Raju in Hyderabad today. Speaking at the event, the President praised Raju’s courageous struggle against injustice and exploitation during the Indian freedom struggle. She emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about his patriotism and bravery, particularly among the younger generation.

President Murmu highlighted Raju’s role in uniting society without discrimination based on caste and class. She noted his deep connection with the tribal society, considering their happiness and sorrow as his own. Raju’s unwavering fight for tribal rights until his martyrdom earned him the reputation of a tribal warrior.

The President called upon intellectuals, sociologists, and historians to actively promote the contributions of freedom fighters like Alluri Sitarama Raju, especially among the youth. She emphasized that embracing Raju’s selfless and fearless approach to uplifting marginalized sections of society is the true tribute to his legacy. She urged everyone to embody his values and ideals for the betterment of society and the nation.
